Casa Montaza, set at the end of its own private road, high up in the hills behind Lagos, is a truly exquisite villa, and an discovered jewel of the Algarve. With its sweeping views across the countryside and to the Atlantic ocean, this interior designed villa is an epitome to good taste and style, set within acres of its own private grounds, yet within just 15 minutes' walk of the town of Lagos, with its Marina, beaches, numerous restaurants, entertainment and cultural activities, and just 10 minutes from the championship golf courses of Boavista and Palmares.
Whether, you can drag yourself away from the serenity, peacefulness, privacy and beauty of Casa Montaza to investigate the surrounding area is, of course, another matter.
As you enter through the electric gates, your eyes are drawn to the large and stunning white villa on the hill, reached via a long winding drive through its own unspoilt countryside dotted with orange, lemon and grapefruit trues - all of which belong to the villa, and is yours to explore for the time of your stay.
On reaching the villa, there is parking for up to 8 cars, and the entrance hall with its superb wood flooring (carried throughout the villa) takes you through to a designer kitchen/diner and galleried dining room which in turn overlooks the stunning drawing room. Patio doors from there take you out to one of the many terraces and garden areas, with 270 degree views of the countryside, the town of Lagos, the beaches and the Atlantic.
Four bedrooms (including two with private patio and a secluded master suite with ensuite black marble bathroom and private terrace with views to die for over the Atlantic and countryside), two further bathrooms and a stunning pool complete the offering to discerning holiday guests.
In addition to the private patios and terraces outside the bedrooms, there are numerous outdoor dining and sunbathing areas with the eye from every angle drawn to the stunning views of your own part of the Portuguese countryside (which is for you alone to explore) and across to the beaches and coastline of the Algarve.
No detail by the highly style conscious owners has been overlooked in their quest to provide the ultimate in a holiday home. Rich fabrics adorn the bedrooms, the fruits of their worldwide travels adorn every room providing a truly eclectic mix of traditional and modern, the high spec entertainment system is wirelessly 'piped' throughout the home (even through to the bathrooms!) and the use of natural wood flooring throughout provides coolness in summer, and warmth in the winter.
